Whatever happened to the times, (which I can remember), when the good old U.S.A was everones friend? The America I used to know was loved and respected worldwide. Now look at us. They lied about 'nam, they lied about Iraq, and now they're lying about Iran. Isreal is the most dangerous one out there right now, and the wankers in the regime are busy kissing their butts. Why in the h**l are we sucking up to Isreal when they are guilty of more genocide than anyone? And why do so many of the idiot king georges appointees have dual citizenship, (Isreal and U.S.), when you can not possibly have loyalties to Isreal and serve the best interests of America? And, oh, by the way, my bow is not obsolete. I hunt with my state of the art compound bow, (which can drive a shaft through a car door at 25 yards), more than I use my guns, (which are mainly for home defense, and I dare any fascist a**h*le to try to take them from me). The only people affected by the passing of laws are those who abide by them. Criminals will find a way to obtain weapons regardless of what laws are in place. To think that gun control will lower crime isn't sensible. All you have to do to find evidence of this is look at countries with gun control like the Australia and the U.K. and see if there are any crimes involving weapons going on there.

It all boils down to personal responsibility folks. It's kind of like blaming Budweiser for a drunk driver or Hershey's for weight gain.

I was going to file a lawsuit against colt because I accidently blew my big toe off with one of their guns that I had stolen from somebodys house during a burglary, oh, and I was going to sue the homeowner for allowing me to break in and rob them while they were gone, and, I cut my finger on the broken glass from their gun cabinet, but, now you've made me feel kind of stupid, and now I have a guilty conscience, so, I am going to sue you too.

It sounds to me that the view of the world you hold is very skewed. It is more likely that the criminals you speak of would think, "Now I am the only one with a gun!" It is not the guns or the bullet that kills people, it is the individual holding it with either a power trip or various other reasons without gun safety education. One more statistic, the unintentional firearm-related death rate for children 0-14 years is 9 times higher in America than in the 25 other high-income industrialized countries with a population over one million combined. If that were true, absolutely true, then the law would also require convicted felons to carry guns and I don’t think that any city would do that. Every means every, not just most. Owning a gun, and keeping it in your home to protect yourself, your family and your home, is differnet than carrying a gun. You have to pass a class and earn a permit to carry a gun.

I dont understand how you can buy property (real estate, vehicles, etc) and think that it's ok to be taxed for it upon initial investment, and then be taxed for it every year you own it till you die! Then you get federally taxed for your income (which is not legal, the 16th ammendment was never voted in) Recently there was an ad in the New York Times offering a $50,000 reward to anyone that could find in the tax codes that you legally had to pay income taxes. I’ve lived 25 years on this earth, and I’ve never once thought that owning a gun was something that I should ever have to or want to do. I have had a shotgun pointed at me because I was turning around in someone’s driveway, though. That was special. I wasn’t a threat, but by god I could have been, and we can’t take any chances, now can we? When you treat the outside world with such hostility, it’s no surprise you would want to own a gun. I mean, from your deranged viewpoint, that everyone is out to get you, gun ownership makes sense. But I don’t see it like that. I know there are bad people out there, people who want to kill me for what I own or for no reason at all. But that’s why we have infrastructure for such problems rather than vigilantes. We aren’t living on the wild frontier. We aren’t facing daily attacks from marauding hordes. How about this as a compromise? If you want to own a gun, there should be some rules. Background check, obviously, and testing. But also, at least 2 hours of required range time per week with a minimum acceptable accuracy rating. Also, 6 hours of required police service per week. If it’s so important for you to have a gun for protection, it won’t do you any good if you aren’t in practice. Walk a beat in Eastdale or Glenwood and keep those reflexes sharp and fresh. Also, regular drug tests, as well as vision and hearing checks, and psychological evaluations to prove your sanity is still intact. Then maybe I’ll feel safer with how easy it is to get a gun in America.

You see all strangers as potential threats, not as human beings, and you would be quicker to point a gun at me if I showed up at your door than to give me directions or let me use the phone if my car broke down. And I just don’t see how you can compare this to a lawless frontier. I’ve never had anyone break into my home and I feel safe there. I live in a nice, upscale neighborhood and worrying about crime has never been an issue. I have an alarm that immediately notifies the police of a break-in, and so far I haven’t needed it, but it’s deterrent enough to have kept me safe all these years. If you live in a bad neighborhood and have to worry about violence, then just blame the republicans for the insane divide between the rich and the poor which is getting wider every day. Poverty creates violence and brings out the worst in humans, especially given that we have the resources to care for every person in this country but we choose not to. And just to answer your question, yes, I would be happier to live in a wonderful utopia like Sweden or the Netherlands. That’s exactly why I’m working on the paperwork now to get my passport and visa in order. Progressive thought, free healthcare and free education through college, plus atheists like me outnumber believers at around 4 to 1. What’s not to love?
