Feed your cat an adequate amount of a good quality prepared cat food and the chances are excellent that that is all he or she will need. Unless your cat is underweight, do not worry if the bowl is not emptied daily. Most cats will eat until full and leave additional food for later. Considering their nutritional needs, dogs and cats are very different animals. Dogs do poorly on cat food, and cats can die if fed dog food exclusively. The difference is mainly in their need for protein; cats need much more than dogs. Some pet shops have cat feeders designed to provide the cat both stimulation as well as food. For more information on nutrition for adult cats, contact your veterinarian.
