CHATTANOOGA,TN, (WDEF)-"There is certainly a great deal of violence in Chattanooga", Chief Fletcher, Chattanooga Police Dept.
There were 4 teenagers shot in 2 different locations in the space of two hours Tuesday night
One of these incidents involved 3 teens sitting on the porch of this house off east 14th street.
Chief Fletcher, Chattanooga Police Dept,"That were present at a home in a yard and a vehicle drove by and fired shots at the individuals and several were struck again that was an instance where we have good witnesses who are supplying good information"
One of the victims 19 year old Zaccheus Hardnett was shot in the ankle while 18 year old Derasean Bowman was hit in the calf just after 1am.
A 16 yer old victim is also being treated in hospital after receiving gun shot wounds to the abdomen.
A former detective has a solution to stop the violence.
Napoleon "Donut" Williams,"We close this city down, curfew all the clubs have to close at 12 o'clock until these shootings stop"
Williams says he is working to end this issue of teen shootings in the coming weeks as he feels its gotten out of hand.
"Got a meeting with the police chief next week me and Dr Richard Brown UTC, we going to meet with him, then we setting up a meeting with 23 other people after he approve this meeting, we are going to get to the bottom of it because we are trying to help"
Fletcher says his team are working on these cases and others but says man power is a solution.
"Running call to call to call, they very much want to get out and engaged their community get to know, but we respond to nearly 11,000 car crashes a year which means that officers get tied up or prevent them from doing what they would prefer to be doing"
A fourth teen was shot in the arm in a separate incident off Orchard Knob just after 11pm Tuesday night and was transported to a local hospital.
All four victims from both incidents say they are unaware of who their shooters are and many initially refused medical treatment on scene.
