500 Volkswagen Aerotek Employees being let go in mid May and late June

Volkswagen in Chattanooga will be letting 500 temporary out-sourced employees go in the coming months. It comes as the company changes from three shifts to two.

Love that the increased efficiency is what they say is the cause. Not true. I work at the plant, and the real reason is that they have over-produced 32,000 cars. They cannot sell them, so they are cutting back the work force. At the All-Team meeting, they broke it down to the simple fact that their cars will not sell. Glad to see that the Chattanooga area and the state of Tennessee dumped so much money and so many tax breaks into a loser. Great job VW... Glad to know that they prefer to send jobs to Mexico instead of strengthening the plant in Chattanooga.

Nice smokescreen but the real cause is sales are down....their own numbers show that. Just looked on the internet and the Passat is tied for last in reliability in mid size cars. No surprise...Audi/VW has refused to address reliability issues for many years. Check out how many states have enforced lemon laws against them for the 2.0 T engine. Until they address this their dream of number 1 will never come to pass.
