Bradley Central Forward Rebecca Reuter will have to sit out the next two games after getting whistled for two technical fouls in the Bearettes sub-state win over Blackman on Saturday. Bradley Central opens the quarterfinals of the state tournament on Wednesday at 2pm against Science Hill. If the Bearettes win that game and their semifinal contest, then Reuter would be able to play in the state championship contest on Saturday. The 6-foot-2 Reuter is half of the Bearettes twin towers along with the 6-1 Brooke Copeland. Here's what Matthew Gillespie of the TSSAA said in response to an e-mail concerning Reuter's status:
"By rule, since she received 2 unsportsmanlike technical fouls, she does have to sit out the next two contests.  The school can appeal, but only if there was a mis-application of a rule.  The school submitted a video to our office for review, but did not submit an official appeal.  This was not the mis-application of a rule, but rather a judgement call.
