POLK COUNTY, Tennessee(WDEF) - Heavy rainfall left Polk and Bradley County rescue crews with a busy Sunday.
Around 11:30 Sunday morning, crews rescued seven campers who were stranded by high water at the foot of Starr Mountain in Reliance. The campers had been in distress since 10:30 Saturday night. Luckily no one was injured.

On the heels of that rescue Polk County first responders got word of a missing kayaker.
The kayaker broke his paddle and flipped his vessel on the Hiawassee River. His friend called 911 after finding the empty kayak.
Rescue crews were able to locate the missing man, safe and uninjured on shore...just after arriving on the scene.
