It's not hard to see why the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office would rule Lucius Moss' death violent.

A neighbor, who wishes not to be identified, says, "That's a lot of hatred. You know what I'm saying. That's hate. That looks like a hate crime to me."

Moss was stabbed at least 17 times, mostly in the head and neck.

He also took about six hard blows to the same areas.

A neighbor adds, "This is sad. This is really sad."

People tells us it's unnerving that no one has been charged with this homicide, or arson, for that matter.

Investigators believe after someone brutally killed Moss, he or she set his home on fire.

A neighbor says, "Even if they're running. Their conscience is going to eat them up. God don't like ugly, this is really, really ugly."

A pair of charred tennis shoes, DVD's, and a broken door are all that remain from last Thursday's tragedy.

They are all signs that this case is far from over.

Leroy Jackson, a neighbor, adds, "We should be careful of what is going on around us and pay more attention and help each other out, so less of this will happen."

Investigators are not commenting on that report obtained by News 12 or a possible motive.

Funeral services for Moss will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
