CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Chattanooga man who was arrested three times for DUI is now facing a vehicular homicide charge along with a fourth DUI charge.

According to Hamilton County Criminal Court officials, Christopher Hinnard, 35, of Chattanooga was indicted by a grand jury for a head-on collision that killed another motorist who was identified as Allen Phillips, 45.

The crash happened on the night of May 11 of last year.

According to police, Phillips was driving southbound on Rossville Blvd. in a black van when he was struck head-on by a White van driven by Christopher Hinnard, 34.

At the time of crash, Hinnard was listed in critical condition and charges against him were pending.

Hinnard was taken into custody on Wednesday and reportedly posted bond.

WDEF did some searching and found out this wasn’t  Hinnard's first problem behind the wheel.

In 2007, Hinnard was was convicted on his third DUI offense while driving on a revoked license.

i have known chris for a long time and to say that he deserves this is not true he is a regular guy like all the rest of us that was just at the wrong place at the wrong time i think they need to be lenient on him because if you don't know him he was a good friend and the kind of guy that would give the shirt off his back for you not many people will do that and he was trying to get his life straight and on track how dare anyone talk ill of him how would you feel if this was your son. prayers are going out for you chris and the other guy was not wearing a seat belt guess it's not the law but then again thats all people want to see is the person as irresponsible, dangerous, and un respectful but that was not him that man would give his life for his friends and family in a heartbeat. If you don't believe it than get to know him before you judge him. He helped me many times when i needed it. can't say that for many people in chattanooga
