CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF) A Chattanooga man wanted in connection to a July 13th shooting that sent a woman to the hospital is now in custody.
Jaamal Parker, 29, has been charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Parker was arrested in Cobb County Georgia then extradited back to Chattanooga.
Police say on July 13, Parker showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and shot her through the bedroom window before running away. She was hit in the hip.
Police believe that less than an hour before Parker allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend, he may have been involved in a shooting at a home occupied by a friend of the ex-girlfriend. That shooting resulted in a 15-year old boy being severely injured.
Investigators say shell casings at both locations matched.
Three months prior to the shooting, Parker reportedly pulled a gun on his ex-girlfriend and another woman. It happened at the Lakeside Ball Fields. Both women reportedly told police they didn’t report it because they thought it was over but it apparently wasn’t
Hours before the alleged shooting rampage began, a female relative of one of the women confronted Parker at a night club about pulling a gun on the two women at the ball field. Parker allegedly got mad and threatened to kill all three of the women.
Parker is now being held $250,000 bond.
