CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF)-Local District 7 activists and some Tea Party members want him out but Anderson says he's going nowhere.

"We are going to spend the next few months educating the voters on the job that i've been doing on the city council for the mere 9 months i've been in office, I think they will overwhelmingly reject the Tea Party's petition"

The campaign will focus on groups who are vulnerable and not represented in district 7 and Anderson says the support he has received in recent days has inspired this new effort.

"I've been really touched by the outpouring  of support not just around the city but in my district with all the neighborhood leaders who are saying, what can I do to help, its really gratifying and shows that my district is united behind me"

Anderson is now receiving  support from Democrat Senate hopeful Terry Adams who visited the councilman in the Scenic City Thursday.

"I think people just have to be educated, theres always been intolerance hopefully there wont always be intolerance but what you have to do is fight back"

Knoxville native Adams  believes this new campaign will bring attention to the changing face of local politics in East Tennessee.

"We have to get new young fresh face, we have to get people who are  Washington, political outsiders, people who make a payroll, who work for a living, we need to have teachers and police officers, fire fighters, business owners, entrepreneurs all been involved in the political process"

Tea Party Members as well as some local community leaders from St Elmo and West 38th street feel a recall is necessary.
They believe Anderson has let them down and does not represent their views.
