To some it may look like a crime scene, but to others, like Maura Ditto, it looks more like one big puzzle she just cannot figure out.
Ditto adds, "She didn't look like she was upset, wasn't crying, she didn't look like she was mad."
Ditto is describing her neighbor, Annie Ulmer, minutes before his gruesome scene unfolded.
Cleveland Police now believe she was fighting with her boyfriend Steven Lanosga, 28, when she stabbed him.
Evie West, with the Cleveland Police Department, says, "The female victim went upstairs during that time, got a gun, she shot a few rounds inside the apartment."
Then Lanosga told police he tried to stop Ulmer from killing herself, but that he was unsuccessful, and in the process got shot in the hand.
West adds, "According to all that information, we do feel it was consistent with a self inflicted gunshot would, but it's still under investigation and we don't have a final ruling at this time."
Ditto says she cannot believe evidence collected so far supports Lanosga's story.
Ditto adds, "Didn't sound like she was upset or having a bad night, then just all of it turn, and end up taking her own life if completely crazy."
Autopsy results are now the final piece of the puzzle that everyone's waiting for, but even then Ditto says, we may not be able see the clear picture.
Ditto adds, "No one's really going to know because she's not here to say her side, so unless he knows something that he's not telling, and he's just a really good liar or if he's telling the truth, I don't think anyone's going to know 100 percent."
Ulmer is originally from Louisiana.
She graduated from Xavier University this year with a doctorate degree in pharmacy.
She was working at CVS in Cleveland when this incident happened.
