CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF)-Cairo is divided. Protests raged throughout the night and for Chattanooga based Egyptian Nasr the worry goes on.

"Is like ten times more than people think, killing, torture, burning, missing"

After protesting outside CNN last weekend Nasr says Western media is only talking in the hundreds when thousands are dead in his hometown.

"Islamic brotherhood no way, this Egyptian people fighting for freedom, these protest will continue until we have democracy and freedom"

At the Islamic  center and Anoor Academy on Gun Barrel Road, locals are praying for those who are injured, concerned and hurt in Egypt right now.

Bassam Issa,"And we pray every day individually and in a group on fridays every week for the people of Egypt to get together, mitigate their differences and get back on track"

Professor Lisa Clark Diller of Southern Adventist University says this issue is more about politics than faith.

"When that transitions to representative democracy that's a tricky thing for a government for a military to step back and allow representative democracy to make the decision"

No one we spoke to today believes the Egyptian Conflict will be resolved quickly.

For exchange students and North Africans here in East Tennessee, 6000 miles from home, the wait and suffering goes on.

Lee University added that they have students who were planning to go on exchange to Egypt who have had to cancel at the last minute.
