Reporter James Mahon joined the team WDEF News 12 in the first week of January 2013.
Over the course of his career, James has worked mainly in Ireland and the UK as a multimedia journalist and broadcaster.
He received a degree in English and Classical History from the National University of Ireland with the aim of becoming a high school teacher before spending time in LA and NYC in 2011.
After falling in love with the US he decided to return to Europe and take his three years of TV and Radio experience to England and pursued a masters in broadcast journalism at Sheffield University and BBC Leeds.
He comes to WDEF News 12 having worked in Irish language television in his hometown Galway and as a videographer with East TN PBS in Knoxville and is excited to call Chattanooga his home.
His interests include Bluegrass and Irish folk music, Soccer, Theatre and fishing and is grateful to his family and friends in the US and Ireland for helping him get this far.
