9-year-old Houston Henry was already embarrased of his black eye he got in an accident on his school playground, but not as embarrassed as he was when his family went to Chick-Fil-A last week, the day after he got his black eye.
His mother Vanessa says he went to play in the playground area, and came back in tears.
She said, "He was approached by a ChickfilA employee and said that he couldn't be in the play area because he had a black eye and he would scare everyone away."
She says she was irate and left the restaurant with her son visibly upset.
"He sat in his bedroom when we come home cause he thought he was scary, and it's not fair for a kid to think he's scary by no means," Vanessa said.
The restaurant owner said he wasn't there when it happened, but his employee told him other parents had complained about Houston being in the playground.
Vanessa also spoke to the owner and told him the situation could've been worse.
"I said well if my child was missing an arm or a leg or something else would you still tell him he cant play.  And he was silent he didn't tell me anything," said Vanessa.
The owner told me he reprimanded the employee and offered the Henry family a complimentary meal. but Vanessa says nothing can make up for this.
She said, "Well I don't want to go back because you hurt my child's feelings.  I'm not going going back to Chick Fil A.

From what I have heard from someone who was personally there, he was asked to be removed by several parents b/c he was bullying kids...not b/c of a black eye.

Are you even a parent?? If you are I feel bad for your children to a parent who gives less than 2 shits if someone picks on them for something they can not control. She handles it correctly, by leaving. But this is just absurd, and should not have happened to this kid. He was already self conscience enough about his black eye, and was taken there to cheer him up, only to be told his injury was scaring kids?!

@queenbee I know they are thin-skinned. Who am I bullying? Sounds like you can handle the truth either. How did she "handle" adults? By leaving? She sure showed them!

@ Harsh reality- You know nothing about them- shut your judging mouth. Houston is a amazing kid, who got hurt in an accident, not a fight! It is inexcusable for our adults to bully like children. Vanessa handled adults bulling her child much better than most would have!

Exactly what is wrong with our country. The kid will grow up to be just as thin-skinned and childish as his mother. I don't agree with how the situation was handled, however it sounds very one sided and dramatically over played by Vanessa. Kid has a black-eye at his age from a "playground" incident, sounds like her child got into a fight on the playground. They need to be at McDonald's, not Chick-Fil-A.
