Cory Foster, the victim's friend, says, "This is my 6th death on this street."
He adds, "All due to violence on East 14th Street."
Foster says, "First my uncles die, and now Leslie."
The shooting death of Leslie Townsend marks the latest homicide.
He was sitting in his car outside his home when police say Shermaine Menifee, 34, shot and killed him.
Foster says, "He used to get his mind off stuff and would get in his car and sit by himself, and listen to music."
And that is what Foster thinks Townsend was doing late Monday night.
Cornelious King, one of the victim's best friends, says, "I couldn't talk. I cried all last night. Don't nobody deserve to be murdered, man, nobody."
Now, here is where the story takes an almost unbelievable turn, according to family friends.
This marks the third death at the home in the last couple of years.
Friends say the last two victims were actually Townsend's uncles.
Foster adds, "I couldn't stomach it. It still feels like a dream, like it's not real."
But there is even more to this story.
We found out one of Townsend's uncle's, Robert Moore, was shot last March while on his porch.
After that police believe Townsend retaliated, and shot another man in the hand.
King adds, "I don't know what's going on, but I pray to God if that they find the person who did it."
Meanwhile, friends cannot help but notice the crime tape that still surrounds them after all these years.
They tell us they mourn for their friend who had two children and a baby on the way.
King says, "He was an uncle to the kids around the hood."
Foster adds, "Better get your grades up, pull your pants up. This violence, killing each other needs to stop."
Menifee faces charges of 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
