39 year old Celvin Montez Houston was arrested at 419 Booth Road just after 8am this morning.
Chief Bobby Dodd sounded relieved that an arrest was made so quickly.
Dodd,"I've been in this business 26 years, I know a lot of the officers personally and anytime one is hurt, it's like a family member."
Dodd thanked local pastors and the community for helping locate Houston.
"We would also like to thank three local pastors for helping us in working with the community in getting the suspect to turn himself in".
Houston faces charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and has a previous charges stretching back to 2004.
Those in both East Lake and along Booth Road are concerned.
East Lake resident,"I don't feel safe because, a cop supposed to protect the people, period. I just don't feel safe"
Booth Rd local,"I have a family and I have a kids, so you know, I never want something like this to happen that close to you but you really don't want something like this to happen at all".
