Man killed in Marion County along Hwy 41

MARION COUNTY, Tennessee(WDEF) - Marion County sheriff deputies are investigating the death of a man in his early 20's who was found dead on the the side  of the road.

It happened sometime before 7:30 Saturday morning on the 21000 block of Hwy 41 just one mile from the Hamilton County line.

According to initial reports, the driver of a light green Honda CRV, struck the man who was already on the side of the road and left him to die.

Investigators believe the vehicle was headed toward Chattanooga.

A potential witness to the crime recorded the numbers 127 off the license plate of the Honda.

Deputies have not released the name of the victim and they have not said whether the driver of the SUV purposely targeted the victim.
