Red Bank Doesn't Allow Rezoning on Ashmore Avenue

RED BANK, TN (WDEF-TV) The Red Bank Commission made the decision not to change the rezoning for the Ashmore Avenue area in front of an over crowded room.

The new apartments will still be built, but the grand entrance will not be apart of it.

Many people in the community like Lora Keith were very pleased with the outcome.

“I’m happy, happy with the outcome,” said Lora. The she adds, “Well I was a little apprehensive at first, but as the day wore on I got more confident because of all the people that were backing us."

There were many people backing the effort against the rezoning of the Ashmore Avenue area, and they came one by one to let their concerns be heard.

Residents spoke about the traffic concerns and the overall living conditions of the community. The Red Bank Commission heard them one by one and went on the side of the residents.

Jay Bell of Bell Development understands the decision, but still plans to go forward and giving the city of Red Bank something that will be proud of.

“It doesn't mean we're going to build something inferior or something below quality,” said Jay. “We're going to build the highest quality product that Red Bank has every seen."

The final reading of this request will be on April 1st.
