Ridgeland beat Marist 28-27 to advance to the state championship game at the Georgia Dome. Marist tried a game winning field goal on the final play of the game, but the kick hit the right upright and bounced off no good. Darrell Bridges was the offensive star for the Panthers. He had two rushing touchdowns, including an 89-yarder in the fourth quarter. Bridges also threw two touchdowns passes, including the game winner to Shaqualm McCoy with just over thirty seconds to play. Ridgeland will now face Sandy Creek for the state title next Saturday at 5:30pm in the Georgia Dome. Calhoun was also a playoff winner on Friday, beating Lamar County 21-14. They’ll play Jefferson for the state crown at 2:30pm on Saturday from the Georgia Dome.
