CATOOSA COUNTY, Georgia(WDEF) - A student at Ringgold Middle School was recently suspended for three days after he wrote a hit list titled ' Who I want to kill.'

WDEF got word of the suspension after reporting on a similar incident in Whitfield County where a student was arrested for making terrorist threats through a written hit list.

Ringgold Middle School officials said it happened in early October when a teacher caught a student writing a hit list.

The boy told authorities he was only imitating something he saw on television and that he meant no harm.

The Catoosa County Sheriffs office conducted a threat assessment and determined the boy was not a threat to classmates so he was not arrested and charged with a crime.

"We want parent to know that there child is safe here. The children are safe. We do everything we can to keep them safe and this is a safe school," said Ringgold Middle School principal Mike Sholl.
