Evidence of a dangerous storm one year ago is still very noticeable on short tail creek road near Harrison.
"We've come some what along. It's not there yet and it's got a long way to go," said resident Steve Housley.
Housley said he's thankful he was in Atlanta when the tornado came through since his mobile home was destroyed.
"A tree fell on the end of it and crushed the side of it and so because of that the roof structure was damaged, had a tree fell on a car so it was basically totaled," Housley said.
Some have repaired and rebuilt, while some homes are still in no better shape they were in a year ago.
Housley said, "Many have left, others I heard instances of battles with the insurance companies of course."
Housley also said he and his neighbors have learned the importance of preparing for severe weather.
"Many of my neighbors, even my family members have the weather radio and so I think they're more aware of what's going on around them. And whenever the alert goes off they're listening attentively."
