EAST RIDGE, Tennessee -(WDEF) police are investigating a Saturday evening shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

Investigators said officers were called to Prater Road in reference to a shots fired call to 911. When officers arrived on scene, they said they found evidence of handgun being fired near the rear of Tweety's Auto Sales.

Witnesses told police that a black pick-up truck driven by a light skinned black man approached Jarvis Strickland, 26, of Chattanooga and shot at him several times before driving off.

Police said Strickland drove himself to the Park Ridge East Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Investigators said Strickland told officers he believes the shooter followed him from a specific location.

Police said it's likely the shooter and Strickland knew each other.
