CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) - One person has been stabbed at miller park in downtown Chattanooga.

According to police dispatch, it happened around 10:45 Saturday night.

According to an eyewitness identified as John Paul Meadows, two men got into a heated argument that escalated into a fist fight.

"The guy got up and went over to the old man and he turned around and the old man hit and knocked him down twice. The old man said he would hurt him and he turned around and the old man hit him again and knocked him down another time and he turned around and took off," said Meadows who further talked about what he saw.

"The guy went after him, knocked him down then started stomping him. Then he reached into his pocket and then the next thing we knew, he was down on top of the guy hitting him but we thought he was just fighting the guy."

Instead, the man on the ground was being stabbed and cut. Meadows said the man on top ran once he saw police starting to arrive.

We hope to have more information once it becomes available.
