CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) Two men are in custody this evening, after a home burglary, a wild chase, and the help of a good samaritan.
It took officers from four jurisdictions to sort it all out.
Officers from Chattanooga, Hamilton County and Red Bank were involved before this 2 hour drama came to a close in a quiet neighborhood along Browntown Road and Cross Creek.
The story was pieced-together from those involved, but who were not authorized to speak or be identified.
Here's what they are telling News 12.
Air conditioner serviceman Shane Johnson spotted two men in a brown van loading a T-V and other merchandise from a home at Northmont and Sandswitch Drive.
Johnson followed the van onto highway 27 and called police.
Officers picked up the chase which ended at Mountain Creek Road when the suspects turned around and headed
The van crashed headon into a small truck---no one was hurt---but the suspects ran into the neighborhood.
One was caught quickly, but police called the K9 unit to flush out the other about 45 minutes later.
MARK BOLES, HIXSON HOME OWNER "This was actually the second time in 4 years our home has been burglarized. Of course I came home immediately...and the police officer doing the report met me in the driveway and told me the suspects had been apprehended. I was overjoyed to hear that...I was pretty upset to start with."
The household goods were recovered..and the two unidentified suspects were taken for questioning by Chattanooga police.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol was called to handle the wreck.
