It was like catching fish in a barrel, or at least a swimming pool as dozens of kids ventured out the Cleveland Family YMCA.
Kids big and small got the chance to reel in some good times, as the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency filled the YMCA outdoor pool with over three hundred live trout.
It was part of the fun at Kids Fishing Day, sponsored by the TWRA. The event was free to the public and kids aged 3-13 were allowed to fish for free.
"The youth is our future. We are primarily funded through the sale of hunting and fishing licenses. So introducing kids at an early age to finishing will hopefully continue on the heritage of fishing and our kids, kids can enjoy it the same as these kids are here," says TWRA Officer Brandon Lee.
The event also taught the kids about conservation and wildlife.
