(WDEF) A 33-year employee of Astec Industries lost his life in a workplace accident.
61-year-old Rick Beck died early Friday morning.
Chattanooga Police officers responded to the scene.
A spokesman says Beck was preparing to attach the lower half of a silo to the upper half when the lower half shifted.
That caused the lower half to hit him in the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Astec is working with the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration to determine why this accident occurred.
