Brandi Flynn works just blocks away from  where 21 year old Derick Smith was shot saturday night.

"You don't know what's going to happen next so yes we are concerned and if somebody needs their medication needs to get back on it, or gang related crime, we need to get it under control."

Her views are echoed by a Roanoke resident who says two shootings a matter of miles from his young family is upsetting.

"People do not know how to act, all I just want to know is people just change and do better".

The young musician says those in the area are sticking to themselves more and more.

"Bad out here, all I can do is just stay to myself and do the right thing, for my daughter and for my family"

The three victims aged between 21 and 24.

With Two of the shootings considered to be drive-bys.
