CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) - The Wednesday morning rush-hour traffic along Southbound I-75 quickly became slow-and-go gridlock after a Mazda mini-van crashed into the back of Tractor Trailer.

46-year old Robin Lemley was the driver of that mini-van who was killed in the crash.

It happened just after 6 A.M. about a mile north of the Volkswagen Drive exit.

Police say Lemley somehow managed to drive her vehicle into the read end of a trailer. The semi hauling that trailer became disabled. It was partially on the shoulder and partially in the far right lane.

"The truck actually had drive-shaft issues so it was partially in the roadway but the truck driver did have traffic markers set back from his truck," said Chattanooga Police officer Tim McFarland.

For some reason, Lemley's vehicle did not avoid those markers. Visibility was clear when the crash happened and investigators don't believe weather was an issue.

As for the driver of the Tractor Trailer, he was reportedly unharmed and not ticketed.
