There was a whole lot of shaking going on Saturday morning on the North Carolina-Tennessee border.

An Earthquake hit Cherokee County, North Carolina a little after 9:30am.  According to the United States Geological Survey it measured 3.2 magnitude on the Richter Scale.

There haven't been any reports of damage but several people felt the tremor.

The USGS says the epicenter of the quake was about seven miles northeast of Copperhill, 55 miles east of Chattanooga.

A caller Saturday morning tells us he felt the earthquake in his Fannin County, Georgia home.

Earthquake

My husband and I were waiting for the ocoee dam to release and fill the river beds...(white water rafting) and how while we waited we heard a loud boom (almost like Dynamite) and then the ground started to shake....we thought it was from the dam releasing the water but it turned out it was an earthquake!!

Google says the earthquake

Google says the earthquake was in Ducktown Tennessee

earthquake

My husband and I felt the earthquake in the Martin's Creek area of Cherokee County. First we thought it was a big truck on our road. We looked outside: no truck! Glad it was only a 3.
