Al Gore Challenges U.S. to Produce All Electricity in Earth-Friendly Ways in 30 Years

|

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former Vice President Al Gore compared his goal of producing all domestic electricity through Earth-friendly resources with putting a man on the moon.

Al Gore Speech

At a speech in Washington, Gore said on Thursday that some of the nation's biggest success stories have come from making commitments to goals well beyond the next election.

He cited the Marshall plan for rebuilding Europe, Social Security and the interstate highway system, in addition to space flight.

The Alliance for Climate Protection, which Gore heads, estimates the cost of transforming the U.S. to clean electricity sources at $1.5 trillion to $3 trillion over 30 years.

Gore is challenging the nation to produce every kilowatt of electricity through wind, solar and other "clean" energy sources within a decade.

Here is a wrap up of Gore's speech.

Gore's Challenge

Republicans have NO solutions to anything. They create multiple problems, offer no solutions themselves, then bash Democrats (or anyone else) who might offer reasonable solutions. Talk about whiners! Of course, all they're really interested in is continuing to stuff their pockets full of oil money!
