| | |

WDEF News 12 has learned a Murray county woman has been charged with hitting and dragging a Whitfield County detective Tuesday night.

Detective Dewayne Homes was assisting with serving a search warrant when officers say 21-year-old Brittany Nicole Weaver struck him with a car.

It happened on Levi Circle near the Murray-Whitfield county line.

Weaver was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.

Officers say Weaver was a passenger in the car driven by Clifford Devin King of Pickens County.

A warrant was issued for his arrest Thursday afternoon by the Murray County Sheriff's Office.
