An Athens man faces reckless homicide by automobile charges for the death of his girlfriend more than a year ago.
30-year-old Jeremy Boyd has a hearing Monday on the charges.
28-year-old Alicia Smith of Niota died a day after the April 2007 accident.
Investigators say she fell off the car trunk.
Boyd had claimed another man gave them a ride from a convenience
store, and Smith rode on the trunk of the car.
He claimed the unknown driver fled after Smith fell and struck her head on the asphalt.
