A Chattanooga bicycle shop owner was struck and killed by a truck in Hixson shortly before 7:00 Friday morning.
Chattanooga police say David Meek, 51, of Red Bank was travelling toward Hixson Pike in the 100 block of Ashland Terrace.
As a box truck passed him, a saddle bag on the back of the bike caught the rear footboard of the truck throwing Meek to the street.
He died at Erlanger.
The truck driver told investigators he never saw the bicyclist and didn't know anything was wrong until he saw the victim in the street.
