WDEF News 12's Nordia Epps joins us now with our top local story.
It was apparently an emotional appeal, judging from Walker's behavior when he left the courthouse.
Grand jury procedures are secret so neither Walker nor its members can talk about what happened.
We understand that Walker wanted to tell jury members himself about what happened Christmas Eve.
You see it all in this Wal-Mart surveillance video.
Officer Freeman is shown pushing Walker to the ground.
Walker chased Freeman and grabbed his arm to ask him to show his receipt.
Walker's lawyer Robin Flores tells me Walker lost all faith in the criminal justice process after Collegedale Police and a grand jury decided there wasn't enough evidence to hold Freeman criminally accountable.
Flores says today was a last ditch effort to get it all off his chest to some people who would listen to him.
Attorney Robin Flores:
"He came out of there today crying like a baby some folks think oh be a man suck it up but this is a 71 year old man shorter than you just a little old fellow."
A decision is expected on Wednesday.
Chattanooga police suspended Freeman for 28 days without pay.
Walker has a civil lawsuit pending against the city and Officer Freeman.
Flores tells me he plans to add the City of Collegedale and the officers involved as defendants.
The grand jury has heard the
The grand jury has heard the evidence and witnesses and declined to indict twice now. This tells me that we have not been told the whole story of events. There is something being left out that doesn't reflect well on Walker.
Walker and Freeman
Freeman is no different from any other person. Assault is assault no matter how you look at it. No one has a right to assault someone and get away with it.Even if you are a policeman.

They should fire the police chief, for not terminating this criminal idiot..

Video: Walker tripped self
Attorney Barry Abbott writes in a Chattanoogan guest column:
The officer's report stated that he had viewed the store's security video. The officer stated that one angle showed that "after (the victim) was pushed, the victim stumbled on his own and that is when he fell against the soda machine and on to the floor". The victim's statement on this subject was that Freeman "pushed and knocked me to the ground. My right arm and elbow was bruised + cut".
