News of Michael Jackson's death leaves many on the streets of Chattanooga saddened at the loss.
Despite misgivings about his personal choices people give him credit for his music.
Natasha Smith, "His health has been going down you know I guess over the course of a couple of months so it wasn't anything that was really shocking but it's just really heartbreaking that he died."
Wesley Whitt, "Back then with we are the world and all that and thriller was awesome but music is music and personal choices put him in a bad light for everyone I think."
Tanya Waller and Cheri Pesnell, "He's a legend. He's produced a lot of wonderful things. It's sad. We'll miss him. Done a lot of good things. It's just sad that he's had some bad things come up but overall yes he should be remembered as quite a musical legend."
Jackson died Thursday afternoon at a hospital in Los Angeles. Medics rushed him there from his home but doctors couldn't save him.
Jackson was 50 years old.
