Chattanooga Housing Authority Cuts 30 from Employment Roll, Including Executive Director Bob Dull
Comments Below: 2
Chattanooga's Housing Authority is cutting 30 employees from its payroll, including Executive Director Bob Dull.
Dull voluntarily submitted his resignation Wednesday.
Twenty-nine other staffers were informed of their job losses Thursday.
The agency is trying to fix a four-point-five million dollar shortfall.
In February the Housing Authority cut another 26 positions.
Officials hope this cut is the last.
Cheryl Marsh, Chattanooga Housing Authority's Public Information Officer says, "We feel that we have made the necessary adjustments to deal with our financial situation and we are hopeful that by the end of 2009 we will be at a healthy financial state."
Marsh says the staff cuts will not mean a reduction in services.
You are exactly Right!!!
It seems as if this organizations Residents and staff are in for a long ride. In this economy with gas prices soaring, food costs rising, and the housing market in shambles, I too express "Good Luck" to those affected by what was obviously misappropriations or mismanagement of resources. Especially from the article posted on the www.chattanoogan.com.
Good Luck to CHA, the employees, and the residents.

They said the last time they laid people off that they had done what they needed to in order to deal with the cut backs. No matter how large the cut backs, if the management is not good, then a business cannot function properly. It will be interesting to see if the rumors of corruption, etc, will come to light! I feel bad for all the honest, hard-working employee's that are there and are being over worked and under paid.
The last comment about "the staff cuts will not mean a reduction in services" is funny to say the least. At full capacity, CHA was struggling to keep up. After the first round of lay offs, they struggled even more.
Good luck to the good people at CHA.
