Downtown Chattanooga offers a new option for free, family friendly entertainment.
It's the Chattanooga Market Plaza Party.
Thursdays from 4 to 7 pm you'll find fresh produce, local food, arts and crafts and live music at Miller Plaza.
The Thursday Market and Music series kicked off Thursday evening.
Chris Thomas with the Chattanooga Market says it's exciting to provide another chance to buy local.
Chris Thomas, Chattanooga Market, "Our Sunday markets have been tremendously popular this year. We've had capacity problems where as many as 15,000 people have joined us on Sunday afternoon to buy local produce so we felt there's a demand for additional markets and there are some around town as well. The downtown partnership and the river city company asked us to join them down here to get this started on Thursday nights."
The Plaza Party will run through the end of October before returning next May for a full 26 week session.
