A Chattanooga ministry closes after 26 years of service to the community.
Chattanooga Matters, formerly known at the Chattanooga Resource Foundation, is closing at the end of this year.
It helped start Faith and Family night at Riverbend along with several ministries including First Things First and the Chattanooga Youth Network.
Executive Director Kevin McNelly says it's bitter sweet, but not because of finances.
He says, "We see that revenues have dropped, but that's not our concern or that's not the straw that broke the camel's back for us. It was that the board of directors and I looked at our mission and we decided you know it's time."
McNelly says Chattanooga Matters completed its mission.
He thanks all their supporters, and says Chattanooga has strong ministries and capable leaders to lead the city for Christ.
