Child Porn Charges Shock Community, Investigators Search for Victims
People who know James Huskey can't believe the horrendous charges against him.
Sandra Hendrix, works in the store Huskey visits: "He's in here two or three times a day, you know. He talks about his kids that he teachers. He's got 2 kids of his own and he just seems to be real good with them and I just can't see him doing something like that."
But prosecutors say the LaFayette, Georgia man has admitted to one of the most shocking sexual abuse cases they have ever seen.
Videotaped rapes of a young girl... Which were then shared in an international child porn club.
The news was even a shock to his family.
Dumas Jackson, Huskey's Father-in-Law says, "With the surprise of it.... And not having any idea that anything like that was going on."
Huskey's arrest marks the peak of a two year international investigation into a child pornography file sharing group.
His confession to creating and distributing thousands of sexual images of a nine year old girl leads investigators to search for other victims.
The unassuming brown house on Highway 193 played a part in the series of graphic images that landed 38-year-old James "Bart" Huskey in federal custody.
Sheriff Steve Wilson says, "Child pornography, distributing, uploading child porn to the interest and distributing it all over the world."
Officers arrested Huskey at his home early Tuesday morning. He confessed to it all -- creating the images, molesting a little girl for nearly 5 years and uploading the images of sexual assault to the web. His confession is just the tip of the iceberg in the investigation.
Here's what we know about the two year case:
Huskey belonged to an internet porn file sharing group of about 48 members worldwide.
Members had to remain anonymous and pass a rigorous testing process to be admitted to the group.
From there, child pornography could be shared.
Investigators tied Huskey to the porn by analyzing the site it took place: a car, a hotel, and Huskey's home.
A picture revealed his reservations at a hotel in July 2007.
A bedspread matched an online purchase he made and had shipped to his house.
His driver's license showed a likeness to the pixelated face of the attacker in the images.
Since Huskey was a well known tennis coach, investigators fear there are other victims in the community.
Sheriff Steve Wilson says, "Do not dismiss anything that you hear. Let your law enforcement be the judge of that and let them investigate it. Let them talk and interview the purported victim and let law enforcement and those who are knowledgeable with these types of investigations make that call."
Huskey's victim told detectives he had continually sexually assaulted her -- up until the day before his arrest.
Investigators say Huskey's confession will help them track down the other file sharers from all over the world.
