Chattanooga Cold Case: Teresa Ann Beard
On June 19th, 1993, a patrolman heading to an unrelated call sees a woman lying in the street in a pool of blood at the intersection of Adams Street and East 17th. Someone has stabbed Teresa Ann Beard in the chest.
Chattanooga Detectives did find a knife believed to be the murder weapon one block from the murder scene. They quickly interviewed a number of people to try and piece together what happened. Teresa was seen multiple times over the night. There were reports she was inside a nightclub on Main street before she died. She was also spotted earlier in the night with a white male going to a house that rented rooms. It was one of the last times Teresa Beard would ever be seen alive.
Police are not sure of the timeline of events leading up to Teresa's death. She had been seen with other people that night as well. Detectives don't know who the killer is, but they think someone in our community might. According to Homicide Sergeant Bill Phillips, "we've interviewed a lot of people that knew Teresa, that saw Teresa that night. And there's really no question in my mind that at least one of these people are not telling us everything that they know."
