
Convergys Hiring for 200 New Positions in Chattanooga, More to Come

(Chattanooga, TN, October 14, 2008) - - Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management, is currently recruiting for more than 200 new positions at its contact center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Potential candidates are invited to attend an Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 17 at Convergys, 5600 Brainerd Road, Unit 3 in the Eastgate Town Center. New employees will provide customer management services for clients in the customer care, communications and pharmaceutical industries.
“We anticipate our total head count in the city to increase by more than 330 by the end of the year,” said Tamara Burks, recruiting manager for the Chattanooga center. “We’re excited about bringing these jobs to our community during a challenging time for our local and national economy.”
Convergys offers employees comprehensive training, competitive wages and flexible scheduling. In addition, new employees can take advantage of tuition reimbursement after day one and a competitive benefits package that includes full medical, dental and vision coverage, which is available after 90 days of employment. After one year of employment, employees can earn additional benefits that include eligibility to participate in the company-sponsored 401(k) plan.
Paid training for these new positions will begin on various dates from October through December of 2008. The training lasts for three to seven weeks, depending on the client program, and total compensation is above $9 per hour. Shifts are available at various days and times within a seven-day workweek.
Potential candidates should have previous sales and customer service experience, strong computer skills, and the ability to work flexible hours.
