Disc Golf Course Opens In Catoosa County
Whatever you do, don't call it a frisbee.
"Disc golf" has come to Catoosa County.
The Catoosa County Recreation Department has opened a new 9 hole, 3 par golf course.
Leave your clubs at home.
This course is for disc throwers only.
"Disc golf is something we feel like [families] can come out and play. Any age, any size. Men or women, and kids and everyone can come out and play," says Dennis Johnson, director of the Catoosa County Recreation Department.
Catoosa's course is the third built in the Chattanooga area.
The game itself has actually been around for decades, but disc golf has recently seen an explosion in popularity.
"The number of courses in the United States has doubled in the last five years," says Scott Homberg, of the Chattanooga Flying Disc Club.
Play is free of charge.
So bring a disc and a group, and take your best shot at the new golfing trend.
