Dog Park Coming to East Brainerd
Comments Below: 0
An off-leash dog park in East Brainerd is doggone close to completion.
At the Friends of East Brainerd meeting Wednesday, plans to improve Heritage Park were unveiled.
Part of the park will be designated the off-leash dog park.
Park planners cite the large number of apartments and retirement centers in the area.
They say East Brainerd needs an area where dogs can roam free.
Bark in the Park has raised about 62-hundred dollars with commitments from the city and county for 6,000 dollars apiece.

"The first phase would be fences. The Cadillac dog park will be running water so the dogs can have water, but there is a creek on the property so they can still have water but it will take a while and we don't have that much money."
Construction on Phase I of the park should begin soon.
