
Dunlap Police Chief Returns Home from Overseas Mission with Navy

After more than a year deployed to Afghanistan Dunlap's Police chief Clint Huth returns home safely.
Family and friends met him at the airport Wednesday.
And we captured the happy reunion.
The first glimpse of Clint Huth brought cheers and tears from loved ones along with hugs and smiles.Clint Huth, "Feels good after being gone for a year it feels good to be home."
It feels good to family and friends too...who had only been able to communicate with him by email and occassionally by phone.
"I'm just going to bring my husband home. We're going to take him home. We're going to take paw paw home right?" says his wife Rhia
At home in Dunlap, Huth's job is police chief.
His coworkers look forward to having him back on the job.
Lt. Coy Swanger, Dunlap Police Dept. "It was hard. He does a lot of stuff that the rest of us in the department are not that we don't do so. A lot of us had to pick up a little bit of slack and learn new responsibilities with him being back he'll take a load off of us."
With the Navy he's a senior chief petty officer.
He's been serving in Afghanistan since last June.
Clint Huth, "I was on a detaining operation mission. Very successful mission. I thought our unit really did a great job over there. We worked alongside the army."
It's been a long absence for his wife and their children.
"God has given us strength to just get up and go everyday and do everything you have to do and believe he'll be ok and he's coming home safely so that's all that matters," she says.
Now it's a little rest and back to the job he loves.
"Other than my family I did miss work. I missed the people of Dunlap I really did. They're super super people. Just going back and seeing them that's going to mean a lot right there," he says.His wife tells news 12 chief Huth earned a bronze star while he was overseas.
He also got promoted to senior chief.
