An East Brainerd businessman is waist deep in trouble over raw sewage...

The Hamilton County Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority fined David Hammel eleven-thousand dollars for illegally dumping more than 30-thousand gallons of the sludge down a manhole in the Whisper Creek subdivision.

Hammel's company maintains a sewage pump in the Windstone Subdivision.

He faces criminal and civil charges over separate problems with that pump.

WWTA's attorney says they will take all steps necessary to prevent further violations.
