One thing not going up next year will be health insurance premiums for folks in the Cover Tennessee program.

Governor Phil Bredesen says along with no rate increase...

Beginning January first, the state will double the number of annual preventive care doctor's visits to 12.

Cover Tennessee is a partnership with small business to provide medical coverage to employees

The state, employers, and employees each chip in a third of the cost.

Bredesen says the program provides the basic care needed to stay healthy.

Gov. Phil Bredesen says

"I think it shows if you take it a step at a time you can successfully manage and run a common sense program at the state level keeping it within our means and without strings attached which made things difficult with Tenncare."
