A year ago today, a Grundy County Sheriff's Deputy lost his life in the line of duty.
Shane Tate died after being shot and killed by Kermit Bryson as he attempted to serve an arrest warrant. Tate left behind a wife and five children.
Tonight, family and friends will gather at the Coalmont Fire Hall for a memorial service at 6:30 CDT. The Fire Hall is located at 8012 Route 56. Tate's family invites anyone who knew him to share a story about the 29-year old hero.
