The number of lawsuits filed in opposition to Chattanooga's annexation plans now stands at six.
Hamilton County Commissioner Larry Henry told a Republican women's group today those communities will remain in limbo until the court process plays out.Henry saying living in the city should be a choice, not something that's forced upon people, and when it comes to taxes, county residents pay their fair share by supporting city businesses. "Hamilton county residents do supply and contribute much to the tax base of the City of Chattanooga. If it weren't for the county residents the tax base of the city of Chattanooga would be in jeopardy."The annexation lawsuits likely wont be heard in the courts until next summer.
