Hundreds of volunteers help give the Humane Educational Society a facelift. The organization held a Cageless party Saturday as volunteers unpacked glass blocks that will replace wire fencing.
The project is just one of many the Humane Educational society has completed to renovate its facility. This design will give pets waiting to be adopted a more comfortable place to stay.
Executive Director Guy Bilyeu, "It will give them natural light so that they have more light and stay happier, we're going to have music piped in, separate heating and air conditioning, and the sound of the water, we're going to have fountains throughout the whole thing and plants throughout the whole thing."
The organization is always seeking volunteers to play with and exercise the dogs and cats. They also want to get the word out that locally and nationwide black dogs need homes. For some reason they're not as easy to place as other dogs.
