Kiffin Worried About Summer Workout Injuries

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin said he's
talked to the Volunteers' strength and conditioning staff to make
sure players aren't overworking themselves during voluntary summer
workouts.
The Vols' offense has taken a bit hit from injuries this summer
- all of which Kiffin says have been just 'unfortunate luck.'
Senior wide receiver Austin Rogers and freshman running back
Toney Williams will miss the entire 2009 season because of torn
knee ligaments.
Junior wide receiver Denarius Moore will miss a few games
recovering from foot surgery and junior wide receiver Gerald Jones
will be limited at best during fall practice with a sore wrist.
Kiffin says one benefit is younger players will have a chance to
get more reps during fall camp, which begins Aug. 4.
